What is an Industrial Ball Valve?
Ball valves are very versatile, they allow, hinder and control the flow of liquids, gases and steam in the piping system by rotating the ball with holes in the valve. The ball is mounted on two seats, connected to the ball using a stem, and the operation of rotating the ball is carried out by a control mechanism. When the orientation of the hole is completely perpendicular to the direction of the fluid in the pipe, no fluid is allowed to pass through the valve. The velocity of the fluid depends on the Angle of rotation of the sphere. Ball valves, like plug valves and butterfly valves, are a kind of right-angle rotary valves. They can be operated manually or with actuators. The simplest operation of the ball valve is to use a wrench or a lever manually turned by the operator. Apply torque to turn the lever arm 90° clockwise or counterclockwise to open or close the valve. If the lever arm is parallel to the pipe, it indicates that the valve is open. If the lever arm is perpendicular to the pipe, the valve is closed.
